Since bee powder supplements have proven to be so beneficial to the skin, it is reasonable to assume bee pollen soap will offer more of these beneficial attributes when applied topically.

Honey Pollen
Antibacterial Attributes - Bee supplementation in the diet adds active bactericides to the body which render the skin impenetrable to bacteria of most types. Bacteriotoxins also turn the body into an inhospitable environment for existing bacteria. This means injuries to the skin are able to heal more quickly and thoroughly. Free radical damage includes the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin cells. When skin doesn't have to contend with free radicals, it will retain its original resiliency.
Essential Fatty Acid Attributes - Pollen is loaded with essential fatty acids. These EFA's have proven beneficial in the treatment of autoimmune skin diseases like Eczema and Psoriasis by reducing inflammation, managing the immune response and rectifying immune deficiencies.
Bee pollen soap that is made with 30 to 45 percent pollen should be able to impart the aforementioned EFA, antioxidant and antibacterial properties to the skin. At the very least, skin will be given a temporary antibacterial barrier which would provide benefit to any existing sores or lesions, and when topically applied the EFA's should be able to reduce any skin inflammation. When choosing a bee particle soap, it is imperative to ensure it is free of any perfumes or dyes to avoid skin sensitivity issues.
As with bee pollen supplements, when buying a bee pollen soap, care should be taken to ensure the pollen used to create the soap is as pure as possible. That means it should come from a non-industrialized, population controlled area. When tested, researchers have found New Zealand to be one of the best areas to obtain a clean bee product that is free from trace heavy metals and other contaminants.
